Tumblr blog Approaches…

I started a Tumblr blog thing. I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to use it for yet. Probably things that are too short for here, and too long for Twitter. So basically quick thoughts on things, links to interesting stuff, and other whatnots. That seems to make the most sense.

Capstone Project- Q2N: Summer Days

I know some people have been asking for me to do a blog post about what I’m doing for my capstone project (the last thing I have to do to complete my Masters program,) and now I feel I can finally talk about it. I probably could have before, but I wanted to wait until it was signed off on and was officially happening.

Off to PAX East

Heading to Boston tomorrow for PAX East. I’m sure I’ll have things to talk about when I get back… maybe.

I might be at the Halolz meetup, depending on what else is going on at that time/if I’m hungry since its supposed to be at the food court at noon on Saturday.

GDC 2010

Back from a week at GDC 2010 in San Francisco. It was both exhausting, and amazing. I got to meet some really cool people again this year, foremost was Amy Hennig the Creative Director at Naughty Dog (she wrote Uncharted 1 and 2.) Continue Reading

Busy Busy

Been busy lately, hence the lack of updates. This post is less about why, then to just to force me to get back into the swing of things with writing. So basically I’ve been busy with a new quarter of classes starting, been trying to get my capstone thesis off the ground (which is a whole… thing,) and then playing a lot of games (which probably should be what next post is about.)

Anyway expect to see some new things soon.

Shirt for Sale! (Techinically Preorder)

They all lay in stone houses in Their great city of Rlyeh, preserved by the spells of mighty Cthulhu for a glorious resurrection when the starites and the earth might once more be ready for Them.

My first t-shirt is now for sale/pre-order! I’m really happy with how it looks. I basically came up … Continue Reading

[NEWS] More posts incoming…

Just a quick little news bit. I have another blog that I used to do called One Gamer’s Opinion, it was mostly about videogame related stuff but eventually evolved into talking about more then just that. So because it seemed odd to have two blogs going I’ve merged the two here. So if you care you can go back into the archives now and read all the One Gamer’s Opinion posts if you want.

Also I think I’m going to start posting more in general. So expect to see possibly more smaller posts commenting/analyzing news, or other things.

Number 9… Number 9… Number 9…

So I’ve decided to stop the Q2N comic for now, mostly because I don’t think I’m able to write and draw it up to the level I want it to be at. So rather then letting the domain go to waste I’ve decided to convert it into my personal blog which will contain my random musing, as well as other writings, and probably art and maybe some one shot comics.

I’m going to continue working on Quest to Nowhere, but as a book. I’ll post updates about that, and probably post some short stories and whatnot that I’ll do for … Continue Reading

Solutions Oriented

With Amazon and Toys R Us muscling in on GameStop’s almost monopoly of buying back videogames, and selling used copies, the discussion of used games has popped up in a lot of the podcasts I listen to again. Now I’m not going to say that it’s not fair that video game developers/publishers don’t get a cut from these sales, because it is fair. Which is to say this is not a industry vs. retailer issue, but rather a secondary market/right of first sale issue for consumers.

1UP and UGO Apparently Do Not Mix Well

It was really sad to hear about what is happening over at 1up.com tonight. Not because UGO bought them, which had been rumored about for a while since 1up’s parent company, Ziff-Davis Media, has been trying to sell them since although they are profitable they are an expensive opperation. What’s sad is all the people losing their jobs (just who is not there anymore is being kept track of on nicely on Joystiq.)
