the Campus Security Corps

Introduction:
What follows is a short story I was writing based on this idea from a forum I visit on occasion. They posted some drawings, and said write something based on them. Seemed like a neat idea, and figured it would be good practice, so I started working on something. What follows is that, although it is incomplete. It sort of just ends, and I really haven’t gone over editing at all, but wanted to post it anyway.

It’s set in the world of “From 1 to Zombie Apocalypse,” which was a game idea I had (which I used for a couple of classes.) It was a setting I really liked, which I’d like to go back to at some point, so this short story let me sort of dip my toe back in that setting.

The 7 Worst Female Videogame Characters

Inspired by my friend Jess’s lists of the seven best and worst female cartoon characters, I decided to make similar lists but looking at female characters in videogames. My original intent while making the lists was to construct them much as she did, listing the character and then discussing why they are or aren’t a good female character.

Castle

I just caught up on season 2 of Castle, and I’ve concluded that it is my favorite show on TV right now. I started watching it originally as it started airing earlier this year, and then had fallen in watching it as the second season started earlier this fall.

Now when it started I mainly chose to watch because it was starring Nathan Fillion (aka Captain Hammer, aka Malcolm Reynolds.) Also the concept of a mystery writer working for the police seemed interesting, and I’m usually a sucker for stories about writing or making comics (see future … Continue Reading

My Trouble with Brutal Legend

I’ve been having trouble getting into Brutal Legend, not that I’m having trouble in the difficulty level of the game, but rather that I’m not really wanting to play it. I haven’t been able to figure out why, I figured that perhaps playing it after Uncharted 2 was clouding my judgement of games. I mean everyone I know has been raving on it, and I feel like I should really like it, but for whatever reason I couldn’t figure out my problem with it. Then I watched Yahtzee’s review of the game, and it all sort of gelled together … Continue Reading

The RavenHawk Incident

Introduction:
Here’s the first short story I’m posting here. It’s my first time writing this kind of story, and was certainly good for practice. The main character/concept was conceived originally as a book possibly, and this could probably be used as a first chapter, but I’m not planning on doing any more with this concept right now. Maybe after I’ve worked on some other things.

Now I haven’t really gone over this, so if there are any spelling or grammar things let me know and I’ll fix them up. Also its about 2500 words, so its a bit long.

Videogame Narrative Stuff

I’ve been reading up a lot lately on stuff relating to storytelling and writing in videogames lately, because it is both something I am doing to an extent/want to do and also because of what I’m working on for my graduate thesis.

Now I was going to write a post here about videogame narrative stuff, but I’m having trouble deciding what I want to say without going in-depth into what I’m working on for my possible thesis.

So rather then trying to come up with something that wouldn’t be too interesting for this post I figured I’d post this video of a … Continue Reading

Number 9… Number 9… Number 9…

So I’ve decided to stop the Q2N comic for now, mostly because I don’t think I’m able to write and draw it up to the level I want it to be at. So rather then letting the domain go to waste I’ve decided to convert it into my personal blog which will contain my random musing, as well as other writings, and probably art and maybe some one shot comics.

I’m going to continue working on Quest to Nowhere, but as a book. I’ll post updates about that, and probably post some short stories and whatnot that I’ll do for … Continue Reading
